At our Art Club programs, creative play is the focus. Children will be introduced to different types of arts and crafts through prompts and invitations — but they’re always free to follow their own ideas and work on personal projects.
We emphasize creative reuse, working with donated and recycled materials whenever possible to spark imagination and care for our planet.
After School Art Club
Ages 6-10. Offered Tuesday through Friday, you can pick which day(s) fit with your child’s schedule. Discounts available for siblings and multiple class registrations.
Bussing from North Canaan Elementary School to CKA is available.
Summer Art Club
Summer Art Club is a playful, hands-on art experience designed for kids who love to make, imagine, and explore. We’ll offer four themed, one-week sessions, each packed with art-making, creative play, and time outdoors.
Each week includes:
• Morning session: 9–11am
• Afternoon session: 11:05am–1:05pm
Families can sign up for morning or afternoon, but children are highly encouraged to attend both for the fullest experience. Kids enrolled in both sessions may bring a bagged lunch and enjoy a relaxed midday break together.
In addition to studio time, children will spend part of each day outside doing open-ended creative play and movement.
July 6-10: Slime and Clay Week (ages 6–12)
A sensory-forward week full of squishing, stretching, and sculpting. We’ll experiment with different types of slime and work with a variety of clays, focusing on process, texture, and joyful mess-making.
July 13-17: My Own World Week (ages 6–12)
Big imagination, small worlds. Children will create maps, build 3D mini worlds, and design flags and symbols—developing the look, feel, and story of a world entirely their own.
July 20-24: Open Studio Week (ages 6–12)
Our most open-ended week—similar to the school-year Art Club. No set theme, just a wide range of materials laid out each day, invitations to create, and plenty of space for kids to follow their own ideas.
August 17-21:Mini Houses Week (ages 10-14 )
Do you love making mini things? Join us for a fun week of mini-making! Using recyclables, and an assortment of discarded or donated materials, we'll focus on making our own miniature houses and all the itty bitty things that go inside them.

A Note About Our Fees
We believe art should be accessible to everyone. If you or your child would like to join one of our tuition-based programs but cost is a barrier, please reach out. We are committed to a no one turned away for lack of funds policy and will work with you to find a solution.
